Cenote Angelita

Cenote Angelita resembles a pond in the jungle. Unlike other cenotes around, there are no passageways here, so you can only dive deep down 60 meters (200 feet).

Because of this unique feature, Cenote Angelita is best explored by experienced divers.

Cenote Angelita has a unique feature that distinguishes it from others nearby. Until around 100 meters there is clear freshwater but deeper you can find salt water.

These two layers of water are separated by a thin layer of hydrogen sulfate that appears as a dense cloud viewed from above and as a uniquely colored hue from below.

In order to dive here one needs to be experienced and have made at least 20 dives before.

Finding this cenote is not hard as it is located 16 km south of Tulum. You will need to walk through the jungle for about five minutes after departing from the main road to reach this site. See below the map.
